During this session of the Crying Classroom program, Feydrea sought to create a space where the participants immersed themselves in a raw and authentic aspect of the human experience of crying. Beneath blankets and in the cozy room, the artist read to us texts she assembled while reflecting on psychological issues that emerge from the perception and application of labor. Demonstrating an act of resilience to the capitalist norms impacting our performance, health, and tolerance. To disconnect from today’s overwhelmingly demanding lifestyle, this participatory performance provided us a chance to rest and sleep, to intend the pause we need.
